English Setter, 6 Years Old
Pecas is a beautiful 6 year old English setter, DOB 01.05.2019
Pecas travelled to the UK towards the end of 2023, finding her paws in a wonderful foster home with 4 other dogs before being quickly adopted by her family in Shropshire. Sadly, they have decided that due to her recall meaning she needs to be kept on lead at all times, they don’t have the time to commit to her training and so we’re looking for a new home for this gorgeous girl.
Pecas, now called Io (pronounced ‘eye-oh’ named after one of the moons of Jupiter) is an incredibly special girl. Her family describe her as the most affectionate soul and constantly seeks out fuss and cuddles. She ‘paws’ for attention and presses her whole head into you just to be as close to you as possible! She loves her daily walks and once she’s home, usually enjoys a long snooze. Once the sun goes down she really relaxes and loves nothing more than to lie on you on the sofa and enjoy the warmth of a log fire.
Her natural instinct with children is phenomenal, having lived with the young son since 2023. She has shown her gentle, patient and kind nature towards him since she first arrived. Io does enjoy the company of other dogs and currently live with a resident dog and was in foster with resident dogs too.
Like all setters, Io does have challenging recall and needs to be kept on a lead in her next home as she has ran off for periods of time with her current family and her safety needs to be top priority. She loves spending time at secure fields where she can run to her hearts content, which she very much enjoys and shows off just how fast she can run!
She is house trained and very familiar with home life although she will need time to settle in a new home and may take some steps back. She’s a sensitive soul and, like all dogs, thrives with positive attention, patience and TLC. She travels well by car on short journeys although copes better on longer journeys with regular stops.
Pecas/Io is now looking for her final stop, a home where she can relax, be part of family life which she very much enjoys and enjoy life to the full
