English Setter, 5 Years Old

UPDATE: Neuru is currently in foster in Essex. He arrived in the UK very stressed, poor boy, but he’s settling in really well now he’s been in a home for a few weeks. He’s living with two resident setters who he’s sharing his space with really well after giving him time and space to destress at the start.

His foster parents say he’s very sweet natured and always happy for a cuddle! He loves people, even new ones he hasn’t met yet and isn’t nervous of them. He’s settling in really well to home life and his toilet training is coming along well too

He’s happy to say hello to dogs on his walks although isn’t the biggest fan of being jumped all over, but who can blame him! He’s settled well with his foster sisters and has started to cosy up on the sofa next to them too. He’s not yet discovered the joy of toys but does watch in fascination while the other dogs play with squeaky toys so we think we’ll see his more playful side in time! He’s an absolute gent of a dog

Although Nauru’s vocal cords have been removed, he can still bark, although he sounds quite raspy which adds to his gentlemanly charm! We’re not sure what’s happened in his past life as he has quite a large chunk of his tongue missing as well which is very unusual. Neither seem to bother him though and thankfully it hasn’t made him wary of humans, what a star!

Neuru is a 5 Year Old English setter, DOB 03.06.17

This precious boy is from the Basque Country. His hunter no longer wanted him because he’s scared of gun shots. He arrived at the shelter very nervous and anxious but he is settling in well with the help of his two kennel buddies so he will need a resident dog in his new home. He’s an extraordinary dog, very affectionate and attached to people but also really great with other dogs.

Sadly his owner informed us that he had Neuru’s vocal cords removed to reduce the noise of his barking, a procedure that many vets thankfully won’t carry out due to the unnecessary cruelty. Thankfully Neuru is fine so now he just needs a home where he will never have to go through such things ever again!
