English Setter, 2 Years Old
UPDATE: Sadly Lord is looking for a new home. He travelled to a wonderful family in Nottinghamshire last month but sadly he’s finding a home with children just too much and, as heartbroken as the family are, the best decision for Lord is for him to find another home. We are looking for a family with no children and another resident dog.
This is what they have to say about him:
‘Lord is amazing, beautiful and loves attention. He loves to play and spends hours playing chase and tug of war with Roko. His favourite is his blanket. He is fabulous at fetch.
On the lead he is getting better, he has a very strong prey drive and stalks everything from birds to horse poo. We have not had the opportunity to walk him near traffic so can’t say what he is like we have stayed to the trails and footpaths. He loves to go in water although the hose pipe is terrifying!
He has been completely clean inside, however you need a mop every time he has a drink I have no idea how he manages to make such a mess lol.
He does destroy letters, magazines any homework not put away.
He does like to have company and He will bark at cats in the garden but is fine with them in the house’
Lord is still settling into home life and he can be a bit possessive of his space and toys which is normal for a rescue dog but adopters do need to be aware of this.
PREVIOUS INFO: This lovely boy is Lord, a 2 year old English setter, DOB 22/05/18
Lord came to the shelter from his hunter who no longer wanted him because he didn’t hunt well. He’s somewhat shy at first but immediately gains confidence and then he’s super affectionate and has a lovely nature. He gets on well with male and female dogs.
He loves to run and has great fun in the outdoor run at the shelter. He walks well on his lead at the moment although it shows that he’s not used to being on one so he may push his boundaries once he is in a home and gains some more confidence!
