English Setter, 4 Years Old
UPDATE: Leik is currently in foster in Reading while he looks for his forever home. He’s a wonderful, cuddly boy who has grown to love nothing more than cuddling up in bed every morning before starting the day!
He’s adapting to home life really well in a short space of time and has already got better at snoozing on the sofa, confident in his own company, rather than following people around, nervous about what he’s missing!
Leik currently lives with a resident dog and he’s adapted well to living with another dog in the house. He loves being outside, whether it’s playing in the garden or out on walks and has almost convinced the resident dog to play with him!
Sadly Leik has had a run of bad luck, after delayed trips to the UK, he was then diagnosed with a mast cell tumour which has been removed and he’s recovering well and has been given the all clear. This poor boy now really needs a proper break and the chance of his forever home.
Leik would do well in a quiet home as although not a nervous boy, he thrives on routine and understanding what’s going on around him
HISTORY: Leik is a 4 year old English Setter, DOB 02/06/20
Leik was abandoned by his hunter along with Txula. He’s a very happy, playful and active setter. He adores running, playing and chasing animals. He loves water and will paddle in the padding pools at the shelter whenever he gets the opportunity so is often a little soggy!
Leik can live with other dogs in his home or as an only dog with humans around for most of the day. He gets on really well with other dogs and he snuggles up with two other dogs in his kennel each night. He gets on well with children and doesn’t show any fear around humans. He also loves to go on walks, he just adores being outside having fun.
Leik eats very quickly and has definitely not had a plentiful supply of food in his past life, he eats very quickly and would benefit from a slow feeder bowl at the moment until he settles
