Jo is one of our rehomers, primarily focussing on setters!
“I had always believed that spaniels were only breed for me until one day at a beer festival I met the most beautiful Irish setter who was going to show me that there might be another breed equally special to me. I then became fascinated by the breed and spent time researching and reading up on setters, which is where I came across SeBPRA.
A year or so later I welcomed Leah home, my first rescue setter from SeBPRA. She’s taught me so much about how rewarding dog rescue can be and the how special it is building a bond with a dog that arrived so nervous. Shortly after Leah arrived home, I started helping with the rehoming team pairing setters up with their forever families.”
Jo has a wealth of experience with dogs, having previously ran a dog walking and pet sitting business in Cornwall before qualifying with IMDT and taking on dog training and more behavioural work while continuing to study. More recently, Jo’s career has taken her in a different direction but still works full time in the animal world, alongside her SeBPRA duties. Jo lives with her partner Tom, cocker spaniel Ralph, three rescue bunnies, Leah and her more recent SeBPRA arrival, Ripoll! Jo has vast experience in everything from agility and scent work to hoopers and trick training, working with her own dogs to suit their needs and helping other dogs and their humans too!
