English Setter, 1 Years Old
UPDATE: Impala is currently in foster in Derbyshire. She arrived very scared but has quickly gained her confidence and is now the biggest cuddle monster.
This simply gorgeous girl is responding to training a lot faster than anticipated. She is eager to please and food motivated so has come on really well listening to commands from her foster mum, improving massively on her housetraining, and walking very well on the lead on low value walks.
In typical young setter fashion, she has selective deafness when birds or squirrels are nearby, and on higher value walks will pull as a consequence. This is to be expected from a lively young 18 month old setter in many ways.
She’s gaining confidence with other dogs she sees on walks and is very curious about all of them. Currently she lives with an older dog in her foster home and she is very enthusiastic around them, although her manners around the resident dog have improved a lot and she now takes direction well off her foster mum. She has had visitors including visiting dogs to her home and she was wonderful with them – even snuggling up for a cuddle.
Impala is young and full of energy and has so much potential, she’d make a fantastic family member for an active family who can commit to her continued training. She would be a wonderful running companion and would benefit so much from enrichment activities like scentwork.
The only thing she is missing is a forever family to call her own. She travels really well in the car and is available to pack up her bags on short notice to journey to her forever home and claim her spot on the sofa next to you.
Impala is a stunning girl of approx 18 months, DOB 08.05.20
Impala belonged to a hunter who simply had too many dogs and wanted rid of some, so the shelter took her in along with Cora and King. Impala, Cora and King are being funded by the kind people who donate to us monthly to ensure we can carry on helping dogs like them
She’s a really sweet girl and very friendly, although she’s shy at first when she doesn’t know people
