English Setter, 4 Years Old
UPDATE 20.01.20: Hiru is looking for a home, preferably with another resident dog. His foster home says he is an absolute joy to have. He is 90% housetrained now, does not chew anything (other than the hooves and buffalo horns which he knows he can have), walks perfectly on the lead with no pulling whatsoever (this may change in time), doesn’t jump up and just rests his head on your knee for a fuss. He does need a secure garden since he is partial to climbing and can clear a baby gate in the house with ease too
Hiru is a very handsome 4 Year old English setter, DOB 10.12.16
Hiru arrived in the shelter in Cantabria in December and we managed to find him a lovely foster home so he could travel on our last trip before Brexit. He arrived in his foster home in Cumbria on the 29th December
He was handed over to the shelter because his hunter said he wasn’t good at hunting. He’s a really cheery and confident boy and just wants to play with the dogs in his foster home. He’s a real sweetie. His foster mum says he’s an absolute gem and eager to please. At the moment, he walks on a lead wonderfully but he does have signs of a strong prey drive so this might become more challenging as he settles in
Like all our dogs, he’s looking for an active home with experience of challenging recall or the determination to learn what adopting a working setter entails.
