Brittany, 12 Years Old

LATEST UPDATE FROM FOSTER MUM – “Feli is  doing really well and has settled in now. She’s much less clingy and ok being left for a couple of hours with the other dogs.  My dog and her are best hunting buddies and the local vole /goose population aren’t impressed. She is developing some recall and will come to the whistle about 50% of the time.  She seems to have some hearing loss but responds to hand signals and the whistle. She is a super fit little girl and has done some canicross with us. She happily runs up to 6 miles (with sniffing and paddling breaks). She LOVES paddling! She won’t jump into water but likes to wade in and stomp around in it. She really is such a perfect little dog!”

Feli is a gorgeous older female Brittany, she is 12 years old, although it is hard to believe she is that age when you meet her, date of birth is 13/03/2010. Feli is now in Uk foster in North Derbyshire, she is living with two female dogs in her foster home. She is affectionate and active and loving life.

Her foster mum says..

True to her name, Feli is such a happy, loving and loyal little lady who has settled in  amazingly quickly and is lovely to have around. She loves human attention and  gently seeks out strokes and fuss. She loves to be on the sofa pressed up against one of us and, although we’ve been working on her sleeping independently, she is happiest sleeping by our feet and this way will sleep through the night.

Currently she doesn’t really like being left alone and will follow us to the door, but does settle and isn’t destructive. I think with time and reassurance she would get used to this.

We initially had a couple of accidents but she is fully house trained and  will ask to be let out now.

Feli doesn’t appear to know or respond to her name and has no recall that we can identify. However she LOVES food so much that she appears to be very trainable and has already learnt some basic commands in english. She also generally stays close by when we walk her on a 10m lead. As is to be expected, Feli is very interested in birds and deer.  She has a strong pull when she wants to but usually walks very nicely on a lead and harness.

Between walks Feli will happily chill out on the sofa or in her bed and snooze, however, Feli has lots of energy and has kept up with my 4 yr old dog out on walks and loves being out! She has been unfazed by meeting new people and wants to greet every dog we see. She has settled well with my two resident dogs, although was a bit enthusiastic with her sniffing initially.  She currently doesn’t really understand dog toys, but does seem curious about them and in time i think her playful side with come out.

Feli is a gorgeous dog waiting for the right home… do have a look at the videos below..

Original information from the Spanish shelter .. Feli is a lovely small and active Brittany rescued from the state pound. Feli (which means happy in Spanish) was left at the pound when her hunter owner moved to a flat in town. She is very lively and active for her age, she has loads of energy and does not seem like an older dog at all. Feli is great with other dogs, both male and female, she shares her kennel with Ney and even shares her food happily. She is very affectionate with people and quickly gets attached, she is always cheerful and ready to have some fuss and cuddles.
