English Setter, 8 Years Old
This lovely boy is Falco, an 8 year old male setter, DOB 10/04/2012
Falco is looking for a special retirement home. Amazingly, he’s been hunting for the last 5 years on 3 legs. He was bitten by a snake and had to have his paw amputated but his hunter didn’t want to get rid of him because he was so good at his job. He’s famous for being such a good hunter and running so fast on 3 legs, it really doesn’t slow him down and he’s adapted really well.
Now he’s a bit older, he tires out fast and his owner took him to the shelter. He’s good with male and female dogs at the shelter although he doesn’t play with them yet.
He’s shy with people at first but once he knows them, he’s very happy and loving.
He loves to run. You can see in his cat test video that he walks quite slowly and we think he actually probably finds it easier to run. At the shelter he’s usually running of lying down. He’ll probably struggle to walk on a lead for any length of time at a human pace so we are looking for an experienced home who can recall train him or a determined adopter who can find a way to let him stretch his legs in a safe environment.
He’s struggling at the shelter. He can’t understand why after 8 years of loyalty, he’s been left in the shelter. He’s improving a little bit as time goes on but it would be lovely to find him his retirement home soon
