Border Collie, 6 Years Old

Brenda is a 6 year old border collie, DOB 15.10.18

Brenda’s story is a bit of a sad one. She was adopted from one of the shelters we work with when she was only young and everything seemed to go well but recently, they were alerted to her by another shelter. Her family had abandoned her there without telling anybody. Thankfully they found out and they’ve managed to help her again but she’s struggling to adapt to shelter life, it’s been a hard change going from sleeping on her owner’s bed every day to being in a kennel. She was abandoned along with another dog from the family which has already been adopted but Brenda is still looking for her chance.

Brenda arrived at the shelter very obese although she has already lost a lot of weight and in time will need to lose a bit more. She has lovely long, soft fur and isn’t overly excessive for a border collie but she does like to run around and play with the other dogs. She’s got a balanced energy though and also likes some down time. She loves people and the ladies looking after her describe her as noble, although she can be a little shy at first.

Brenda can live with cats and children. She has also lived with other dogs before but we would consider a home without another dog as she seems calmer in her own company at the shelter.
