English Setter, 5 Years Old

This gorgeous boy is Zuri. He’s coming up to 6 years old, DOB 01.07.16. Zuri was adopted almost 3 years ago but sadly due to a change in circumstances, his family have made the heartbreaking decision that they need to find Zuri a new home. He is currently in Worksop, Nottinghamshire

Zuri arrived as a very scared dog. He has improved an awful lot in 3 years, but he still does have a nervous side of him, scared of loud noises and unusual things. He can be a bit wary of men and dogs he doesn’t know. His family have worked really hard with him and he even got to go on holiday with them and was happy in the local cafes and pubs. He travels fine in the car too.

He loves his doggy buddy that lives close by and we really think a home with a resident dog would be beneficial for Zuri to help him take his next steps and help build up his confidence more. He also adores toys and is very happy playing with balls or a teddy as well as chewing on an antler. He enjoys carrots too and other safe fruits.

He does ok when left on his own for short periods of time and he’s generally well behaved in the house although he will steal the odd slipper at times! He’s partial to a bit of digging in his favourite spot in the garden for a bit of fun too!

He sleeps in the bedroom with his mum and dad at the moment and is very happy there so we’d be looking to continue this in a new home as well to make his transition as smooth as possible and to ensure his confidence isn’t knocked more than it needs to be

Zuri is a fabulous boy that has come so far already. He’s looking for a home with a resident dog, he’d be great with older children but has not been cat tested so cannot go to live with a cat. Now his confidence has improved so much, he just needs a quiet home with the patience to carry on working on his confidence and training at Zuri’s pace
