English Setter, 3 Years Old

UPDATE: Yuca (now called Seren) is a gorgeous 3 year old English setter who traveled to her UK in January and was adopted by a lovely family in Dorset. Unfortunately things have not worked out as the family had hoped and she is now looking for a new home.

Seren is a wonderful girl who is great with other dogs and really adores humans, especially her mum! She goes into work with her mum where she is loved by everyone who meets her and the whole team at work, it’s hard not to fall in love with this girl! She loves nothing more than spending time in the garden catching leaves and feathers. She is starting to learn to play with toys, her favourite being her squeaky duck which she will play fetch with exchange for a nice treat! As you can see from the videos, she’s a real joy to watch and also doing well with her basic training although, in true working setter fashion, is on a long line for her own safety!

Seren does struggle with separation anxiety so will need a with a resident dog and a patient adopter who is around most of the time to support her to become more confident day to day. Although Seren currently lives with young children and is very good with them, a quiet home with a routine would be more suited to her. She can also live with confident cats if introductions are done properly.

HISTORY: Yuca is a beautiful young tricolour female English Setter, just one year old, date of birth 01/07/2020.

Yuca was handed into the shelter with her mother Linda and her sister Yampa because the hunter no longer wanted them. Yuca loves to go out into the enclosure for a run, with her mum and sister she is very happy, very active and playful.

Both Yuca and Yampa are quite dependant on their mum for confidence, they are not used to human contact and are very timid. At the shelter they are slowly learning that people are not so scary, but both these dogs will need confident friendly resident dogs in their adoptive homes. Yuca is particularly attached to her mum so if you might consider a pair, then Yuca and Linda might be a lovely choice.
