English Setter 6 Years Old
Tur is a beautiful male six year old English Setter, date of birth 29/08/16
Tur is a gorgeous setter, given to the shelter by a hunter because he has too many dogs.
Tur can be shy initially with new people, but will soon start to trust you. He can be unsure of other male dogs but hopefully this will improve as he gains confidence and feels more secure.
Very sadly, the shelter started to realise his eyesight did not seem totally normal and after a trip to see an opthalmic vet, he has been diagnosed with progressive retinal atrophy. He is fully blind in his left eye with some vision left in his right, although he will lose it completely in time. He has adapted extremely well and blind dogs can lead amazingly normal lives. There is no treatment for PRA unfortunately but the positive is that it also causes no pain. His future home will need to be aware of his condition and help him adapt and live a full life.
