English Setter, 9 Years Old

Sully, originally called Kull, is a 9 year old English Setter, DOB 16.05.15

Sully has had a really rough life, but especially the last 4 years. His hunter developed some mental health issues and stopped taking him his two setters out so they’ve spent the last 4 years shut inside the same small outdoor run, with a hole in the wall as their kennel. Thankfully, his mum contacted a rescue we work very closely with in Spain and asked them to help them. In her words “wherever they end up, they’ll be better off” but of course like all our dogs, they will be looking for the best homes now to make up for their previous life.

Sully hasn’t seemed to take his past life too personally and has settled really well into his new shelter life, getting on well with other dogs and being very happy around people and children. He’s a balanced dog at the shelter and although he arrived with a lot of excess energy, he’s found his groove and happily sunbathes or bathes in the paddling pools between investigating and playing with the other dogs.

He arrived with a lot of mats in his coat and very overgrown claws but is now getting lots of TLC to make sure he’s in good health for the rest of his life. His coat was filthy and in bad condition but is already starting to improve with a good diet. He could live in a home with other dogs or as an only dog. He has also been cat tested.
