German Shorthaired Pointer 6 years old
Sofia is a beautiful female German Shorthaired Pointer. She is just six years old, her date of birth is 05/05/17. She is currently near Edinburgh.
Sophia is a super clever, loyal, bouncy bundle of love, she is affectionate and cuddly, she is intelligent, a quick learner and adores human companionship. Sofia is speedy on the uptake and she is keen to please, so she will be a joy to train and make the best companion you could ask for. She could do well at canicross, scent work, mantrailing or similar.
Sophia was adopted in Edinburgh but has found urban life too busy and stressful, she would prefer a home with quieter walks and her own back garden. She has been living as an only dog with lots of human companionship which suited her very well.
Her adopters say “Sofia is a cuddly, snuggly girl who loves a cosy sofa, dog bed or blanket (in that order!). She wants to please you and thrives off human contact. She wants to be as close as possible to you and is so loving. She is a stunning girl, very elegant and agile. She is also strong and has a high prey drive as you would expect with a GSP.
“She is extremely clever and a quick learner. She was toilet trained within a week and picked up sleeping arrangements well. She sleeps well outside our bedroom door in her bed and will sleep through the night. She is a confident girl and definitely knows what she wants, for example when it’s food time she will let you know! She loves enrichment activities and is quickly becoming an expert, especially food wrapped up in a towel.
“She settles really well if you are working at home. Sleeps most of the morning. She will let you touch her anywhere, happy to be brushed and towel dried after a muddy walk, and getting harnesses on and off is no issue. She does jump up but is starting to sit more instead and now knows she gets attention for sitting. She is good and relaxed in the car, transports well in the boot.”

Sofia can be reactive with new dogs particularly over food and toys. She has lived with other dogs in kennels and in uk foster, but needs good introductions and time to build the trust with other dogs.
