English Setter 3 Years Old

UPDATE: Poll is currently in foster in West Sussex and looking for his forever home

Poll is currently living with other dogs in his family, including a setter. He’s a really lovely boy who captured the hearts of his foster family within minutes of arriving. His foster mum says he’s a very chilled out and relaxed dog. He gets on well with other dogs but if things get too chaotic, he’ll just potter off and find a quiet spot or find a human for cuddles instead. He likes to play with other dogs though and would do well in a home with a resident dog. He loves to eat and mashed banana and peanut butter treats on a lucky mat is a favourite but he also like strawberries, blackberries and blueberries but has decided apples are not for him! At the moment he walks nicely on his lead, this may change in time as he settles more he adores his walk and also likes some 1-2-1 time with his humans too on walks when they get the chance, this boy likes to feel special!

He loves being brushed and groomed and his foster home have done a great job of making him look a bit smarter as he’d been in the shelter so long he arrived with his coat needing some TLC! He’s looking great now and will happily sit with his head on his foster mum’s lap which she grooms him, closing his eyes and snoozing through the whole thing!

He’s going well left on his own for short periods of time with other dog company too.

HISTORY: Poll is a very beautiful male two year old English Setter, his date of birth is 27/09/20.

Poll is a really handsome setter, he was handed in by his hunter as one of the many excess and unwanted hunting dogs. Sadly he has had half of his tail amputated at some stage before he came to the shelter, the hunter says it got infected and had to be removed. However this does not stop him from being a wonderfully happy and playful dog.

Poll is great with male and female dogs, he loves to play with them. he shares his kennel with two other dogs with whom he shares games and food without any problems.

With people Poll is very affectionate and gets attached very quickly. He is also obedient within the confines of the shelter, although it would no doubt be different on an exciting walk.
