Brittany, 10 Years Old

Onil de Peppin is a gorgeous ten year old male Brittany, his date of birth is 24/05/2015.

Onil is a beautiful, sweet natured, pedigree Brittany with a balanced temperament, he is now too old to be useful for his hunter, but still very active and lively, he was sadly discarded at the shelter. Onil is a wonderful older dog, he will give so much love, loyalty and companionship. He is now in UK foster in Surrey, he is currently living as an only dog and is available for adoption anywhere on UK.

His foster mum thinks he’s as close to perfect as they come! At nearly 11 years young, Onil is proof that age is just a number. He has the energy, enthusiasm, and fitness of a much younger dog, and he loves getting out for long walks and adventures.

Why everyone falls in love with Onil:

  • Friendly and gentle with people and other dogs
  • Easy-going, affectionate nature
  • Full of character – when he’s excited, he “chatters” like Chewbacca from Star Wars!
  • Sleeps soundly through the night (prefers a cosy bed near his humans)
  • Has picked up housetraining brilliantly
  • Travels well in the car

Onil has settled beautifully into foster life and takes everything in his stride—from busy parks to pet shops, nothing seems to faze this lovely boy.

Onil absolutely adores his walks and being outdoors. He has typical Brittany instincts and enjoys using his nose—especially when it comes to squirrels, deer, and other wildlife! The great news is he’s already made fantastic progress with training and redirection, and he’s showing just how clever and adaptable he is. He will need an adopter who understands his breed traits and is happy to continue gently guiding him, while still letting him enjoy being a dog.

Onil is very polite when meeting other dogs, at the shelter he was very sociable and was very happy sharing his kennel and we think he could fit into a home with existing dogs or as an only dog. But best suited to a cat-free home (he finds them a bit too interesting!)

Onil is doing really well with his recall in secure fields—he checks in nicely and forms a strong bond with his person. With time, patience, and the right environment, he has great potential, but adopters should be sensible and use secure areas initially when giving him off-lead freedom.

Onil is a kind, clever, funny, and loving dog who has slotted into home life with ease. He’s looking for someone who will cherish him, enjoy his quirky personality, and give him the active life he thrives on. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will make you smile every single day, Onil might just be your perfect match. 🐾

His foster mum says “Onil is the most adorable boy, gentle, friendly and curious, he is a quick leaner and has settled into home life very well. He loves his walks, he sleeps through the night, his house training has been spot on and he travels well in car. He is so affectionate, very active and seems young for his age. Onil will make the most wonderful companion!”

Onil is lively for his age and would enjoy regular interesting walks and adventures every day. Onil is very affectionate and attached with to people. He would love a home with people around most of the day and we think could be happy as an only dog or in a home with current dogs.
