English Setter, 5 Years Old
UPDATE: Some of you may remember Blue from earlier this year. The lucky boy bagsied a home in Spain through the lovely rescue he is with but has sadly had to come back to the shelter and is looking for a home again
You can tell from the photos in his last home that Blue has been very well cared for in the 6 months he’s been with his family but sadly due to financial strain redundancy has put on the family, they just can’t afford to keep him anymore and have heartbreakingly had to let him go. While it’s so lovely to see how well he did in a home for those 6 months, dogs in Blue’s position find it so hard to adjust to shelter life after being so well cared for in a home environment so we’re really hoping to find him a new home in the UK as soon as possible.
Blue is a real gem of a dog. He’s lived with children and cats and has got on exceptionally well with both and is so very accepting and tolerant of young children. He’s also lived as an only dog and coped really well as his real love is for people. That being said, while he also gets on well with other dogs so while he’s not dependent on having a resident dog in the home, he would happily share his home with one. Blue lived in a city centre apartment and did well with the general coming and goings of busy surroundings which not all our dogs can cope with, but equally he would love a home with a garden to stretch his legs and lovely walks on his doorstep. Having lived in a home for 6 months already, he has basic training and manners to build upon although these may take a knock moving back to the shelter of course. He’s a very adaptable, handsome boy with an outstanding character
Blue is a 3 year old English Setter, DOB 28.12.19
This very regal looking chap is Blue and he’s a total sweetheart. He was owned by a hunter but spent all his days outside with the other family dogs, however at night, the others were allowed to come indoors and he had to sleep outside.
He’s a very balanced dog in the shelter. He adores people and just loves being with them. He likes other dogs too and adapts well to them. He likes to be around other dogs and although he doesn’t always play with them, he likes to follow them around and be in their company. He’s been good with all the dogs at the shelter as well as children and has been cat tested too.
He’s a very good boy, likes to please and comes back when he’s called at the moment in a secure area.
