English Setter Cross, 1 Years Old

Barry is a 1 year old English Setter, DOB 01.05.23

This beautiful and unique boy was rescued from a pound in the Basque Country where he’s been for a year already meaning he was only a pup when he entered. He was released from the pound quite fat so we know he’s been locked up for a long time with no exercise and only his very most basic needs met. His passport says setter but of course he’s definitely got some other breeds in his mix as well making him a stunning boy.

Now he’s out of the pound, he’s very much enjoying being outside and being able to play with the other dogs. He has a really great time, a happy boy with a smile plastered on his face after living a miserable life so far. He’s already losing some weight and is showing what a fantastic character he has. Shelters pair kennel mates usually quite carefully to make sure there’s no disagreements over food and that the dogs get on together well and their energies match each others when they’re not able to be outside which is usually quite easy with setters in general! Barry however takes that one step further, it does not matter which kennel he ends up sleeping in because he gets on with everyone and never causes any conflict. He will happily sleep in one kennel one night and then pop himself in another the following day and be just as happy! The ladies looking after him describe him as noble, obedient and very affectionate as well as having a wonderful character. He’s very playful with other dogs and if a dog at the shelter doesn’t know how to play, he teaches them, which is always so magical to watch!

Barry can fit into most homes, with or without a resident dog and can also live with children
