Rudi was adopted December 2018 but things didn’t work out for him, he was an only dog and we’re not sure if he struggled to settle without other dogs or whether he needed more stimulation. Now in foster with 3 other dogs he’s doing really well.

He’s a typical GSP, active, loves going for walks, is very interested in scents and goes deaf and his recall needs work. However he’s a very bright dog and is enjoying being trained, he seems to love the attention and the challenge. He’s the kind of dog who needs to be stimulated, needs a task to do. He’s very affectionate with people and likes nibbling on hands.

He gets on well with the other dogs in the home although he has in his first couple of weeks had some moments when he’s felt a bit insecure with them but he’s had a lot of changes and this is to be expected. He sometimes shows a startle reflex when asleep and somebody comes in loudly and barks at this point. All in all he’s a confident, outgoing dog, happy to greet new dogs and people but he has some anxieties which are decreasing as he spends longer in his excellent foster home.

An ideal adopter would be an experienced, active gundog owner, willing to take him for decent daily walks and give him activities to stimulate his brain. He can lie with other good-natured dogs and there are cats in his foster home who he’s getting on fine with (other than pinching their food when no-one is looking). Could you give him a loving forever home?
