English Setter, 2 Years Old
UPDATE: Zar has arrived in UK foster in Bedfordshire 22.01.22
Zar is blossoming into a magnificent young setter. He is such a handsome boy, he is active, intelligent and loving. He is large and bouncy with no manners at all as yet, so highly likely to jump up in welcome.
Like all working setters he has a strong prey drive and a great set of legs for running, he has yet to learn recall so initially he would have to be walked in secure areas or on a long line.
Zar has a wonderful happy nature and bouncy manner. He is initially quite shy, but once he knows you be is very affectionate and he adores other dogs. Zar would like a rural hone with another active young dog for company.
Zar found the kennels quite stressful, but since coming into uk foster he has grown in confidence, he is playful and affectionate and keen to please. He is still quite nervous and can be scared of new things, people, noises etc. Zar is also very scared of his lead and will need an adopter with patience and understanding to help him appreciate that he no longer needs to fear these things. Zar learns quickly and it is an absolute pleasure to see him grow in confidence and bounce round the fields with joyful exuberance. He loves people and other dogs, and in the right home this dog is going to be an amazing lifelong friend.
We are looking for an active rural home for Zar, as the urban environments or the noise of young children could be overwhelming for him. He is currently in foster in Bedfordshire with male and female dogs. There are also cats in the foster home but we feel he is beginning to take too much interest in them and would be better in a cat free home.

Zar was given up by his hunter in Spain, and went to a shelter in Spain. They said he is a very shy dog and still needs to overcome a lot of fears. He’s doing well with the company of his kennel mates and is looking for a home with a resident dog. He’s slowly learning to relax and once you’ve gained his trust, he’s very affectionate.
