Bruno male 4 year-old English Setter

In UK foster home

Bruno came from an awful pound in Galicia and we suspect was treated very badly by his hunter owner. When he’s scared he throws himself down on the ground. He’s nervous on walks and also throws himself down to the ground into a commando position. Once he gets more comfortable with people and realises they’re not going to hurt him he just wants to cuddle up next to them. With dogs he’s fine with both males and females. He is quite calm for his breed at the moment, although he has developed a love for birds which is proving his new garden is not secure enough so he will need 6 foot fences.

His toilet training is a work in progress but he is doing well. He quite happily slept in his bed while I was busy working and we didn’t have any problems when we did need to leave him with our other 3 dogs. He’s a really lovely dog, a massive softie and just wants somebody to give him a life of cuddles after all he has been through!

He’s a lovely boy, no bother at all to have around the house. He’s really affectionate and turning into quite the cuddle monster. He can be nervous around new people at first but likes the attention at the same time! He’s great on walks, has some interest in birds but is still calm for a setter at the moment. We have let him off his lead in enclosed fields and he does come back when called but we haven’t let him off on normal walks yet. He’s nervous of dogs bounding right up to his face while he’s on a lead and isn’t sure what to do. He barks but not in a nasty way and still has his tail wagging! He’s made himself at home on the couch, bed, armchair and even the washing basket! He would do well in a home with other dogs and no cats.
